Cam Rhan Bay RVN
Jusr wondering if there is onayone on this site that was there in 65/66/67 in the Navy.
I first got there in June of 66 and the Navy and the Seabees were builing the two 10.000 ft runways. The Army was down the road just like the Air Force was directly in front of us. I was off shore on the USS Pine Island ( av-12) for ten months before going ahsore after E&E Schooling in Little Creek Va/ Just want to know ... enough......... |

Here under Waterbuffalo
"Spending family time in San Francisco.
Stories included Larry (Vietnam VET, Navy SEABEE, plumber and cook) talking about the time they sent SEABEEs on guard duty with orders to shoot anything that moved. Well you know they had to shoot the waterbuffalo. When the military paid for it, Larry insisted that since they bought it they should get it. He says it was some of the best barbeque he ever made. Additional information Larry was in country 67-68 and the water buffalo cost $600. " Larry is married to my sister. I sent a copy of your posting to him and her. Joy

SORRY, REEB
I didn't get to Cam Rahn until MAY68. By then it was pretty built-up. I was riding a gun jeep, escorting fuel tanker convoys. It was a huge base by then.
Joy Are you visiting San Francisco? Hope you're enjoying our weather. How long you staying?

Frisco kid
We were down there the 15th through the 19th.
We went to the commissioning of the USS McCampbell. Our son is stationed on it. San Francisco weather was hard on Darrel. Arthritis doesn't like cold and windy. We had a good time with family and playing tourist though. Joy
