Letters & Cards
Our men and women in uniform are dispersed worldwide in an ongoing struggle to protect our freedoms. In Iraq, they are disarming Saddam Hussein's regime and liberating an oppressed people. In Afghanistan, the Philippines, the Middle East and at home, they are pursuing terrorists and preventing another Sept. 11. As crucial as these operations are, however, America's service personnel do not find their strength in fighting. They find their strength in the unfailing support of family, friends and the nation they serve.
Few can understand how precious is this support like those who have served. As veterans of past wars, we remember the letters, care packages and cards of encouragement that kept us going as we fought thousands of miles from home. Now is the time for every American, veteran or not, to do his part in boosting the spirits of those who have vowed to defend our Constitution and our way of life. May it never be said we are an ungrateful nation. Author un-known
