Thumbs up Nice GL-1100 Doc:

Hi Doc 2/47. Enjoyed seeing the picture of your Bike. I have a 1982 GL-1100 Interstate with Custom Mountain Scene Murals painted over the entire Bike. It is still running like a Swiss Watch and has almost 81,000 miles on it now. I keep waiting for it to break down so that I can buy a new Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. It keeps running so well that I really believe that someone will eventually drive it to my own Funeral some day though.

I see that you are missing your Left Rear View Mirror. The same thing happened to me while riding from Daytona to Clermont Florida after Biketoberfest 2006. J.C. Whitney has replacements in stock and showing in their Catalog. Exact copies of the originals too. They come in sets of two and I just put the other one away for when the other side falls off. The cost is really reasonable.

Happy riding and as always: WELCOME HOME BROTHER:

For the rest of my Vietnam Veteran Brothers and Sisters I also want to wish everyone a big heart felt:

WELCOME HOME

Bob-

That's the plan.

'68-

Would love to see your bike. Any chance you might ride it up for the '07 campout?

Mine is also an '82. A Silverwing with the 500cc "sideways" V-twin engine. This is the 3rd bike I've had with that same engine. Mine has aprox. 42,000 mi. about 6,000 of which I've put on it since I got it Mar. of this year. Runs like new. Bob (aka b3196, aka bOOger Lee) took some pics. this sping while he was still sober (i.e. before he actually arrived at the campout) and posted a side view on the gallery ('06 campout). Please note that I had dropped her in the middle of a hugh mud hole the PM before while running cross-country to a favorite fishin hole. She ain't no show bike but she's rarely quite THAT nasty. Also have since recovered the rider's seat with nice dark brown saddle leather.

Welcome home. Hope for the chance to meet you in Apr.

If you need any parts....just get on I-75 north of the Dalton exit.
Hal's bike has a tendency to get rid of anything that not permanently attached......Including the rider

Smile 2007 Campout:

Well Doc 2/47, I would really like to be at the 2007 Camp out with you guys--That is if you don't mind a REMF joining in. The main problem is that I have no idea on how to get there and would definitely get lost while trying to find Psycho Mountain. Every time I get off of Route #95, while either driving to Florida or back to Massachusetts, I get hopelessly lost and always have a real hard time getting back on again. Route #95 goes through Georgia but anything off of it might just as well be on the Moon, as far as me trying to find it is concerned!!

Is anyone, that is going to the Camp out, going by Clermont, Florida? If so maybe I could bum a ride or even follow in my own car. Clermont is about one half hour away from Disney World and close to Route #4. Route #4, taken East, runs right into Route #95 at Daytona.

To all of my Vietnam Veteran Brothers and Sisters I again wish you (It can't be said enough as far as I am concerned):

WELCOME HOME

Just come up 75 past Atlanta to the Dalton exit and we'll take you in from there. John or Sid probably know an easier way.

VN 68'

You won't be a REMF at the Mountain. FNG yes, which gives you certain rights and duties you must perform. Just run if you see Mortardude with a pound of butter.

We'll get you there some how.....it's easy to find. Just follow the parts of Hals scooter. Don't pick any up though, he'll never find his way back to Normandy.

Seein' you on the Mountain!
