June 8th Predisent Johnson authorizes the use of U.S. troops in direct comba if the South VIetnamese Army requests assitance.
Austrial deploys First Battalion Royal Austrialinan Regiment to Vietnam for combat operations in III Corps. Arc Light begins the U.S. Air Force ues B-52 strategic bomvers to strike enemy targets in South Vietnam
