Pardon Chief Gallagher For What

Excuse me Mr. President, but you can not pardon a man for doing what he was trained and expected to do? “For to do this, is to send a tragic message to the rest of the world!!”

“Chief Eddie Gallagher, and his entire Seal’s Unit” have certainly got to be numbered as being among “The Best of Our Best!” These men are not boy scouts or panty-wastes, but rather, they are among “Our Nation’s First Line of Defense!”

And without them (and troopers like them), “Our Military” could be rendered indigent at best, do you not agree?

Sir, “War is Hell”- nothing more and nothing less!! And although I personally deplore all such violence, it must still be noted that what “Chief Gallagher” did in “The Heat of Battle” is no different from the situation that is (and was) faced by thousands of other Americans in times past! In short, he is a brave and patriotic man who was doing his job, and had he not instantaneously responded to the situation, maybe now, it might have been his body that would have been defiled, just as thousands of patriotic Americans have been in times past! “Kill or be killed!!” “This may not be right, but it is war” and unless one has experienced its horrors first hand, there is no way to gauge what any person’s reactions would be in similar circumstances?

“Remember: It could have been any one of us who instantaneously cracked in a similar circumstance, even you, or the multitudes of other brave and gallant warriors whom we train and expect to perform a thankless and horrible job under impossible circumstances, within a region that does not function, or even think, in the same way that we do here!!“War is, after all, HELL, and it is the absence of reason and sanity, and only in Hollywood do the dead arise anew, bedecked in medals and ready to fight again!”

PARDON CHIEF GALLAGHER NOW SIR OR CONDEMN EVERY OTHER AMERICAN TROOPER WHO HAS EVER TEMPORARILY SUCCUMBED TO THE HORRORS, INSANITY AND TRAGEDY OF WARFARE, AND THAT SIR IS DAMNED NEAR EVERY ONE OF THEM !!”
