Default "Out Like A Lamb" My Ass

The first thing I had to do this morning was shovel the 5"-6" of snow out of my driveway. Winter just doesn't want to move on out of the Pacific Northwest yet. This is about the third blast of measureable snow in Spokane since Spring has sprung. Luckily, it warms up enough to where it doesn't stay long. Most of today's melted, but it's snowing again as I type this. Spokane has received almost 7'[ft] of snow this winter. Thank God it hasn't stayed cold enough for all of it to accumilate.

No. Though it still looks like the Christmas season, Kath took down the Christmas wreath. That one is a Winter wreath of hawthorne berries. She'll put up a Spring wreath if it ever actually gets here. Maybe June .

Default Tom,

We got about the same amount of snow as you. I shoveled snow yesterday. I've never seen snow this late in Ellensburg. Or even in Newport when we lived there. The snow pack is almost at 200% according to the forrest service. If we have a spell of hot weather, there will be flooding.
Did you forget to tell 'Mother Nature' winter was over. Or, would someone wake-up 'Mother Nature' and tell her Spring is here.

Keith

P.S. Someone should slap the Aussie around a bit, making fun of our dilema.

Last years drought has left about 3" of pine straw and thousands of pine cones all over the yard and with well over 2 acres of land that makes a bunch for the tractor and lawn sweeper to get up. About a month ago we had to call 911 to put out a fire in the front yard since someone tossed a cigarette out of their car and it caused that dry pine straw to catch fire and lite up over 100 foot of front yard by the mailbox. The winds and rain that we've had so far this year have knocked all sorts of dried tree branches from the the dieing trees and we're waiting for the yellow snow of spring pollen now.
Sure beats shoveling snow though.

Tom,
Your weather has got to be as close to ours as it gets. We've had 30's and 40's for the past two weeks with temps dipping to an occasional 15 at night. We got 6" of snow Friday morning and the ground was so soft I tore the driveway up with the plow. We dipped into the single digits with 5 deg. this morning. Now we're supposed to be getting 40's this week, with 60 for Tuesday. No wonder everyone's sick.

It's this little guys fault!

Default The weather been wonkus here too

The latest snow dumped on OR is the latest snow fall since 1951. Mt Hood ski area already posted a total of 650 inches total of snow this year----thats 54 feet!! a record (this is total for the season, not all at once.)

Up here at the Lazy J (bout 900') we only got a dusting of snow but its been crazy--yesterday we had freezing, hail, snow, rain and then the last several houurs of daylight were all warm and sunny. There's no snow on the ground now. Evrybody's talking about how weird the weather is.

Over all, these 3 years we been in Oregon (3d anniversary this week!) have been 3 of the warmest years on record, less rainfall than normal.
this crazy weather is part of "global warming," which should be better said global weather displacement.

Picked up a couple of more inches in my part of MA on Friday and 28 degrees right now, about 20 below the norm for this time of year. Ol' Man Winter just won't take the goddamn hint!
