Default I am going tomorrow at noon

Bow hunting, put the fine diamond hone to the blades and you can shave with the arrow heads. Got a spot picked out at the edge of the wetlands area.

Good luck to you Ron.

Good Lord!
265 grain bullets out of a .444 should mean meat all over the place!Course,in Texas everything is big.
I shoot 130 gr nosler ballistic tips with my .270 for deer.

I just don't have to go look for them. They are right where I shot them. With a tennis ball size hole in the side. Now a 265 grain bullit also means I can't shoot past 100 or so yards, but thats ok whith me.
Besides that, I like going to the range and watching the dust fall from the shooting positions.

Ron,
Just pulling your chain,Bud.I guess the country you hunt in is probably pretty brushy and a little twig won`t change the flight of that big bullet like it would with mine.I like to hunt mule deer where shots up to 300 yds are not uncommon.Hunting elk over here in the West End..now that`s a different story.I use a .308 Norma Magnum that anchors them in their tracks.Gettin too old to shoot and chase.

If you guys would like some bigger game, come out to MA. I had a young bull moose in my front yard this past Sunday. He trotted off once he saw me (I'm not sure which one of us was the most startled) and I lost sight of him when he went between the neighbors' houses, but I could hear him stomping through the woods out back.

Out here in Washington state the general Rifle deer season opens up Oct 16th I plan to hunt the wet side this year down by my place on the Satsop river. I've did a few drives thru the woods and seen quite a few deer and about 1/3 being legel bucks I have a couple of clear cuts marked off on my topo map where I've seen more then one buck so I think thats where I'll head opening day. My son just picked up a Model 100 winchester in 308 cal. and I'll be using my ol' 300 winchester magnum if I can see um I can hit um and if I hit um they are dead. haven't had to follow a blood trail yet they seem to drop where they were standing. can't say that about some of the other calibers that i've used in the past. I promised Doc some Venison this year so I better not let him down. I'll be on a mission. less then two weeks till Bambi dies.
