Thanks for the info on my old unit! Spent January - March 1971 with Echo Recon 1/5 Cav. Home was FB Mace around Xuan Loc and we were operating off FB Apache. Didn't realize the Cav stayed on for so long. When 1st brigade stood down, I got sent to the 101st, 1/501st Echo Recon at the tail end of Lam Son 719. Phu Bai was our rear area the rest of my tour.
