Exclamation Once Again:Gays in the Military

You didn't hear about it on the evening news or read about it on the front page of The New York Times, but just a few days ago, the Obama Administration announced a plan to completely decimate and destroy our Armed Forces!

To put it in the words of Robert Gibbs, Barack Obama's incoming Press Secretary, when the question was posed to him:

"You don't hear a politician give a one- word answer much, but it's yes."

But Obama's NOT calling it a "reduction in force," nor is he giving ANY indication that the REAL AGENDA is the wholesale destruction of our military. The pending decimation is being deceptively pitched to the American public as a plan to end the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy."

Complementing Obama's efforts, California Representative Ellen Tauscher recently told the press that she plans to immediately re-introduce her deceptively titled legislation, the Military Readiness Enhancement Act (MREA).

Of course MREA, in actuality, DOES NOT EVEN ADDRESS MILITARY READINESS.

The language and purpose of the legislation - which had 148 far-left co-sponsors in the House of Representatives during the last session of Congress, but thankfully died in committee - is geared EXCLUSIVELY toward promoting open homosexuality in the Armed Forces!

Tauscher recently told reporters she is rushing this legislation because:

"We shouldn't be forcing good men and women out of military service."

But Tauscher is either totally blinded by her far-left ideological worldview or is simply lying outright because MREA would do just the opposite - MREA WOULD FORCE GOOD MEN AND WOMEN OUT OF THE SERVICE!

Tauscher and the Obama Administration must be aware of a recent poll by The Military Times that poses the question; "If the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy is overturned and gays are allowed to serve openly, how would you respond?"

According to the poll, a full 24 percent of respondents said they would not re-enlist or consider not re-enlisting!

That's significant!
If those numbers hold constant for all the men and women presently wearing a uniform (and there is absolutely no reason to believe they would not), the 10 percent of those in the poll who indicated that they would definitely NOT re- enlist - would EXCEED the number of those serving on active duty in the United States Marine Corp.

If the remaining 14 percent who said they would consider not re-enlisting are added into the mix, the number could approach the number of troops presently serving on active-duty in the United States Army!

Don't let Barack Hussein Obama get away with decimating our military forces by as much as 24 percent and shoving acceptance of the radical homosexual agenda down the throats of our brave men and women in uniform who proudly serve this country and put their lives on the line to preserve our freedoms.

Elaine Donnelly, founder of The Center for Military Readiness, writing in National Review Online makes the following point:

"Contrary to some disingenuous news reports, activists for gays in the military are determined to impose their agenda on our military. They are working with the incoming administration and pushing hard for repeal."

Why else would so many on the left aggressively push a policy that appears to have no real reason or purpose?

Donnelly again:

"There is no 'national security' argument for repealing a law designed to protect good order and discipline in military living conditions offering little or no privacy."

In other words, Obama and his allies on the left - in typical liberal fashion - are deceptively manipulating the American people, playing on our compassion and sense of fair-play as they urgently tell us we must remedy a problem that doesn't exist... all to advance their sickening agenda.

Retired General and former Secretary of State Colin Powell perhaps said it best. In a 1993 letter to then-Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder, Powell stated:

"Skin color is a benign, non-behavioral characteristic. Sexual orientation is perhaps the most profound of human behavioral characteristics. Comparison of the two is a convenient but invalid argument."

In other words, even if a "problem" DID exist; you can't "discriminate" against a behavior!

Donnelly again:

"Corollary programs to make the new policy 'work' would include professional 'diversity training' to enforce acceptance, and 'zero tolerance' of anyone who disagrees. Dissenters would face discipline and be denied promotions, which would end their military careers. Incidents of misconduct would increase threefold, to include male/male and female/female misconduct that undermines discipline and demoralizes the troops. These results would harm recruiting and retention, and effectively destroy the volunteer force."

Donnelly elaborates in simpler terms:

"The real-world issue here is not superficial. Nor is it a Hollywood fantasy portrayed for laughs in a television sitcom. We are talking about human sexuality and the normal, human desire for personal privacy and modesty in sexual matters."

"Repealing the 1993 law would be tantamount to forcing female soldiers to cohabit with men in intimate quarters, on all military bases and ships at sea, on a 24/7 basis. Stated in gender-neutral terms, forced cohabitation in military conditions-which offer little or no privacy--would force persons to live with persons who might be sexually attracted to them.

"Inappropriate passive/aggressive actions conveying a homosexual message or approach, short of physical touching and assault, will be permitted in all military communities, to include Army and Marine infantry battalions, Special Operations Forces. Navy SEALS, and cramped submarines that patrol the seas for months at a time."

Look at it another way. Sexual privacy is a real concern, it matters. If not, then we should immediately make all public restrooms and locker rooms unisex.

And while we're at it, we should decriminalize a male United States Senator tapping his foot in a public restroom stall in an attempt to "pick-up" an undercover police officer?

Of course, if you have a problem which such things and wear a uniform in the new and improved Obama military... TOUGH!

If you're living in a large public bay with 100 other people (very common in the military) and several of them are engaging in public conduct that you find repulsive in the new and improved Obama military... TOO BAD!

Live with it... deal with it... accept it... embrace it! Heck, try it, but at the very least, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!

But wait... the repercussions might not stop there.

Donnelly yet again:

"Campbell University Professor of Law William A. Woodruff, an expert on the issue of homosexuals in the military, expressed concern that the full burden of the "civil rights" standard could be imposed by the federal courts, based on legal and administrative precedents."

"That could mean recruiting quotas for gay personnel, the offer of enlistment to those previously denied, retroactive promotions, and financial settlements for persons claiming past discrimination."

Historically, the military has offered bonuses for those who are willing to perform under strength job functions. In tomorrow's military, bonuses may be given based upon one's willingness to engage in deviant acts!
