Question Confederate Money

Just a very off topic question.

Does anyone here know anything about old Confederate Money? As in bills.

I have a couple I recently "inhereited" from my uncle Olen. No one else in the family likes collecting money or coins, I do.

I also have some old bank notes from Ohio from the 1840's, or so they say.

Have yet to be able to see the 200+ coins in the saftey deposit box.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything!

Thanks!

An old note from the Louisiana area was called the ?Dix? or French for ten. As I understand the story this then became the roots of ?Dixie?, as in look away, look away Dixie Land?

Melody,
Confederate States Money is now very profitable to own, if it's in good condition it can be worth a lot now. I don't know the values of individual notes but a reputable collector shop would be able to give you a good estimate. Also it's always a good idea to let people know you keep your collection in a Safety Deposit box ,less likely to entice them to make an unexpected visit to your home to collect. Just a precaution to let ya' know!

Melody,

We had a ton of it as kids and used to play with it. Didn't know it ever became worth anything. Same with my old baseball cards and I had some unbelieveable ones.
