501st CSW welcomes new commander

Col. Brian T. Kelly assumed command of the 501st Combat Support Wing during a change of ceremony Thursday, March 17 at RAF Alconbury. Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, 3rd Air Force commander, presided over the ceremony witnessed by the airmen of the 501st.
Kelly, who replaces col. Timothy Cashdollar, became the wing’s fourth commander since the unit was reactivated in spring 2005.
Kelly most recently served as commander of the 31st Mission Support Group at Aviano Air Base, Italy. Cashdollar will become the Director of Manpower, Personnel and Services at Pacific Air Forces headquartered in Hawaii.
After assuming command Kelly acknowledged the responsibility he was handed.
"While I cannot guarantee you the exact results, I can guarantee that you will get my absolute best, and I will work even harder to earn my place as the leader of this great wing,” said Kelly.
The 501st CSW oversees three air-base groups dispersed across the United Kingdom and a unit in Stavanger, Norway.
