My boy Travis..
this "ain't" got nothin' to do with nothin' just puttin' it here to remind me my boy is going to be on CMT Sunday 8:00 p.m. central time.
Put Some Drive In Your Country Well I was raised on country classics Like Roy Acuff and George Jones Lord I loved to hear 'em Sing all them old time country songs But I really got excited 'bout the time I turned 15 That's the first time I heard Waylon and old Bocephus sing They put some drive in their country that really turned me on Yeah, put some drive in your country Keep country drivin' on When the music gets you movin' You know that can't be wrong Every time I hear that outlaw stuff on my car radio It makes me wanna drive it just as fast as it will go Put some drive in your country Let's keep country drivin' on We played some shows in Atlanta on Sunday afternoons The gigs were packed and I was nervous Cause I wanted folks to like my tunes The crowds were full of younger people They were all about my age So I turned and told the band just before we walked on stage Put some drive in your country fellas We turned those people on Yeah, put some drive in your country Keep country drivin' on When the music gets you dancin' You know that can't be wrong See I made myself a promise when I was just a kid I'd mix southern rock and country and that's just what I did Put some drive in your country Keep country drivin' on Put some drive in your country Hey, let's keep country drivin' on When the music gets you movin' You know that can't be wrong I still love old country I ain't tryin' to put it down Damn I miss Duanne Allman I wish he was still around Put some drive in the country Keep country drivin' on Put some drive in the country Let's keep country drivin' on |

Outlaws Like Us
Written by - Travis Tritt From - Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof I was born a country singer I love Charlie Pride Raised on 'He Stopped Loving Her' Cut my teeth on 'Mama Tried' Yes, I love Hank Williams But I still love rock 'n roll Hank Jr., me and Waylon We're all cut from the same mold And they say country's changin' And we must all adjust But I still think there's lots of room For old outlaws like us I love to jam with the Skynyrd band 'Cause 'Freebird' chills my bones And I've talked trash with Johnny Cash And I've sung with George Jones And I have played on the Opry stage Where the country legends stood Where you don't give lies or alibis 'Cause they don't do no good And Lord, I guess, that I've been blessed Though I have been kicked and cussed But it's nothing new to moan the blues For old outlaws like us Chorus: And I wear this country banner And I'm proud to wave the flag And you can talk all day 'bout the next Billy Ray But I'll cast my vote for Hag And when all those screamin' metal bands Have corroded into rust There'll still be a show on Music Row For old outlaws like us Now, I don't have a crystal ball To tell what lies ahead But I play my way, though some folks say Country rock is dead And you may call me old-fashioned You may think I'm insane But rhythm and blues is in my blood And pumping through my veins And I've still got some loyal fans That I know I can trust Who will sell their souls for rock 'n roll And old outlaws like us |

No More Looking Over My Shoulder Written by - Michael Peterson & Craig Wiseman From - No More Looking Over My Shoulder As a child I was told that I was destined to be nothing Growing wild as I got older I fulfilled what had been said Hiding ignorance and fear I prayed nobody saw me bluffing But I was laying the foundation for a future I would dread Yeah Seems like every choice I made would somehow leave me second-guessing 'Bout the green grass I was passing racing toward the other side I thank God for the blessing That I finally learned this lesson: One Step in the right direction's worth a wasted mile behind Chorus: Singin' No more lookin' over my shoulder No more hangin' on to the past No more filling up my tomorrows With yesterday's sorrows No more lookin' over my shoulder I could chill a room with reasons why I would not give forgiveness To the people who had selfishly left me a wounded soul I kept dragging 'round those memories Like a ball and chain behind me Wonderin' why my troubles followed me wherever I would go Oh, but one night, sick and tired of being sick and tired I realized forgiveness was the only open road I swear I heard those shackles snap The moment that I took that path I never have one time looked back since the morning I arose Chorus I'm singin' No more lookin' over my shoulder No more hangin' on to the past No more filling up my tomorrows With yesterday's sorrows No more, no more, no... No more lookin' over my shoulder No more hangin' on to the past No more filling up my tomorrows With yesterday's sorrows No more lookin' over my shoulder |

Can I Trust You With My Heart Written by - Harris & Tritt From - T-R-O-U-B-L-E When you meet that certain someone you been searchin' hard to find It's a new love full of passion that can sometimes make you blind I don't mind bein' swept away if I know right from the start So before we go much further girl can I trust you with my heart In the time we've spent together I have learned to trust in you So many things you've given before I even asked you to But reality and romance are sometimes far apart So what I really need to know is can I trust you with my heart Chorus: Can I cast my cares upon you can you stand a heavy load Can I count on you to walk me down that long and winding road If you promise me these simple things I can guarantee You can always count on me Chorus When two hearts solely surrender and are sworn to understand It completes a perfect union between a woman and a man So please don't misunderstand me I don't want to go too far Without knowing just one answer can I trust you with my heart Please girl give me just one answer can I trust you with my heart |

Well, there it is....
how about that. Highway 88 and Jobe?s peak on the right. Looks to be right at or just over the California-Nevada border about 12 miles south west of my home. Best bike riding country in the whole USA, bar none.
Scamp Oh, Electric blue, no saddel bags, open pipes, forward controls, no sissy wind shield, Nevada plates FW1. Around these parts I'm called FW but I aint saying what that stands for. |

Pure Country...
This AM we had Cougars and cubs in our neighborhood. Very unusual to see them around. Recently a black bear decided he wanted to join a neighbor for breakfast and just came on in. They all scrammed up stairs, called the County Mounties who in turn called the Forrest Service bear people. The bear got a cocktail dart and was taken unharmed, but probably stoned, back to the forest. I?m glad we just don?t start shooting these days. But I?m curious as to what has the Cougars moving around in broad daylight. Usually they work the night shift and sleep during the day. Bird hunting started this weekend so maybe that?s it or it could be that a gazillion Harley bikers descended on the area over the weekend and were popping and cracking around everywhere. Either or both sure had the Cougars up and around.
Lt. I had a Sporty 1200 cc for a while and liked real well, maybe too well as I?d inevitably end up doing games with the rice burner-crotch rocketeers who like to think they own the mountain. But these days I?m happy with the more docile Daytona with the Evo 80 cui and ?rubber band? drive. That works. Scamp |
