Looks like what the locals around here call an "Angler Fish".

Looks like someones twisted version of a high heel shoe.

Covan, I wouldn't eat too much out of the Susquhanna. We're dumping 2,000,000 gallons of sewage into it until we can get the plant on line again after the flood.

Steve,

Fortunately we live on the West Branch and what drains into the main branch doesn't come this way.

Truthfully, I wouldn't eat any of the fish caught on this branch either. Much has been done to clean up the river over the years and you can certainly see an improvement. In fact, they keep talking about bringing the shad back.

covan,
The Deleware river headwaters start about 20 miles east of here and the Susquhanna starts about 20 miles north. Even as close to tha start and being upriver from the wastewater plant, I agree, the quality is not there for eating. The Deleware, on the other hand, has some of the greatest trout fishing around. Severly regulated though. NYC regulates a huge watershed area. A contract that NYC shoved up the peoples butts about 5 years ago. Tells people where to sh-- and when.
