Question A Key, A Lock & A Place To Call Home?

7-1-2020

The Old Saying about believing nothing of what you hear, and only about half of what you actually see, has never been truer than it is in today’s hectic society! As a matter of fact, the best deterrent to any unforeseen problem is still a damned good lock, and of course, a determined and well-armed home owner – “Or So The Old Saying Goes?”

Of course, it is a crying shame that things have deteriorated to this level, but I at least partially blame “The Old Boob-Tube ” for “This Twenty-First Century Phenomenon”, for after all is said and done, many (if not most) people these days reach for the television-on/off switch, and this almost before they even shake the sleep out of their eyes, or even take their initial whizz in the morning’s first light – “And That Is A Fact Jack!”

Default You Bet!

HC - what we see everyday is M.O.T.S. (more of the same) I agree with your posting. My wife won't watch the news anymore its always the same. Our neighborhood is already acclimated to the new way of isolating themselves. Everyday a bus shows up to give food to those with kids and no income. They line up every morning 7 days a week for two bags of food stuffs.
-
Our VFW just reopened but with the new virus resurgence they may be shutting down again very soon.
-
Paper products are on the shelves once again in the local stores. Those isles were normally empty and you had to shop around to find some.
-
Gas pricing is still $2.18 a gallon - but nobody is going anywhere like they used to.
-
Temperatures are in the low to mid 90's the last week and a half. Off and on rain drives the humidity is unbearable.
-
Still getting property tax bills - right on time - they want their money!
-
Doctor visits and masking twice a week for Kath. She's getting worse and she's refusing any type of major surgery. Just say's she wants to die - can't live like this anymore!
-
I've fixed everything in the house - my grass is pristine - our car's sit in the garage all the time and I cleaned them over and over again - boredom.
-
Have done all my house chores and have had only bill - a plumber.
-
Our 1.5 ton Lennox Air Conditioner - is fairly new and is holding up well under all this heat we're having of late.
-
Both our auto's are running well. 96 Chevy Cavalier and a 07 Nitro both in good shape.
-
Fixed my youngest daughter's car twice and new tires.
-
Oldest daughter has dental issues and her husband has a abdominal hernia.
-
As you can see "virus or not" parents are always at hand to help them out.
-
Both Grand-kids got laid off their summer jobs because of the virus and now they are bored as hell with nothing to do or places go to! Teens get bored in a heart beat!
-
This is not new - it's all over the US - everyone is impacted in some degree - some more than others.
