“Political Parties”
Have you ever stopped to wonder how much more we could have accomplished had both (major) political parties worked together with but a single goal - the advancement of these United States?
Some 231 years back, the vast majority of our fledgling nation shared but a single dream. Freedom, liberty, equality and justice (real justice) for all, was our mandate, our banner and our dream. It was an impossible dream, but against all odds - WE MADE IT WORK!! Somewhere during the progression of time, however, political factions splintered off. If it wasn’t the Tories, the Whigs or the Democrats, it was the Republicans, the Greenies, and yes, even the Bull Moose Party? The basic concepts of progress through unity was sometimes lost, and it took wars to re-educate us in the fact that we must continue to pull together, or we will most assuredly pull apart! So what happened - where did the vested take over, where did a common cause lose ground, and where did party politics become far more important that our mutual survival and advancement? Party Politics is all well and good, checks and balances so to speak, but when political affluence, connections and a continuing war that pits American against American, quintessentially divided by agenda, become far more important that the future of our nation, or worse yet - we place world whim and foreign demand above our very survival and the mandates of Our Founding Fathers, then I put it to you that it is time to get back to the old values that made us the best of the best to begin with! “Again, these are but my opinions!” “LUX LUCIS OF VERUM (The Light of Truth)”
