John McCain went on CBS News on Tuesday night and told Katie Couric that the "surge" in Baghdad was responsible for the Anbar Awakening.

Unfortunately for Senator McCain, the Anbar Awakening began in 2006; the surge in 2007. I'm unclear at this point whether McCain was just lying, or just utterly clueless with regard to events on the ground in Iraq. Either way.........this guy ain't got a FREAKIN CLUE.

And he's the best the Repubs have to offer??

McCain definately made an idiotic mistake last night, which as far as I'm concerned, is just one more thing that disqualifies him from being President.

It is so appalling and so factually wrong that I'm actually sitting here wondering who McCain's advisers are.??

This isn't some gaffe about where he talks about the Iraq-Pakistan border?? (even though, I still couldn't believe he said that either?).

It's a real misunderstanding of what has happened in Iraq over these past years. It is even more disturbing because according to John McCain, Iraq is the central front in the "war on terror." If we are going to have an Iraq-centric policy, he should at least understand what the hell he is talking about.

Now and even after its great success, "The New Darling of The Press" QUITE STUPIDLY confessed that STILL AGAINST: "The Surge".

Absolutely Amazing...and especially coming from an American!?!?!?
Must've made his Political Handlers cringe & state something like: "Stick to the pandering script given you,...and to hell with your being Honest with The American People" "Let them find out LATER, what they've been sucked-into".

Regardless, the slip most certainly proves that The Devout: "Democrat/Socialist/Leftist Supremacists posing as Liberals" would much pefer America be defeated in Iraq rather than be Succesful & Victorious,...so as to more easily: "Recapture The White House".

It would seem there have been different "awakenings". Anbar was in 2007 according to a google search. I don't know how to cut and paste so can't put all this up. I just Googled Anbar Awakening, there is lots of info.

The best I can make out about Anbar is that leases were sold for such A Vast Oil Reserve
quite some time ago, and then also flat-out-halted & rejected by Dems Pandering to
Environmentalists,...as typically & usually do for garnering votes from most all minority
groups (even: "Criminally Illegal Aliens" and/or The CORRECT INS Classification).

As to Anbar's "AWAKENING" or resurfacing strongly on the political scene, according to
TV News same pretty-much coincided with Bush's initially or first pressing for start of
The Surge in Iraq and beginning of Skyrocketing Oil Prices...and/or 2008.
