Jim Dundon Vietnam 69-70 and The Class of 1975 of Forrest High School.. ************************************************** ****************** April 25, 2002 Dear Forrest Class of ?75 Alumni: You may be aware that our classmate Scott Speicher has been in the news again. The government has changed his status from Killed in Action to Missing in Action and it is possible he is being held as a prisoner of war. We are deeply concerned that if we don?t do something now to keep his name in the public eye that once again this issue will be shoved aside. We have enclosed the latest press release on Scott?s status. As you read this, we know you will feel as we did ? that our country and countrymen have let Scott down. It is truly an injustice to Scott if we let even one more day go by without trying to do whatever we can to bring him home. We had bumper stickers printed for the purpose of distributing them in an effort to keep Scott and his plight in the forefront of our minds. We encourage you to display the enclosed bumper sticker as a show of support for Scott. We plan to make available the ability to download the bumper sticker artwork for those of you interested in printing more and distributing them in your area. Displaying this bumper sticker may seem like a small gesture, but we believe it will have a big impact. Hopefully, by doing this, the bumper stickers will be seen nationwide. We members of the reunion committee have agreed to use the remaining funds in our reunion bank account toward this effort if necessary. We can think of no better use for this money. We have put reunions together with zero starting funds before and we can do it again. If you can help us out with funding additional printings and distributions by sending in whatever you can, even as little as $1.00, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent to the address indicated below. Also, if you have any ideas or connections that can help us promote this cause, please contact one of us. We have always felt our class has been special in that we have had a close fellowship with each other. This is one more way we can display that closeness by doing whatever it takes to get the powers in Washington, D.C. to find Scott and bring him home. Our greatest hope is that soon we will be writing you about the biggest welcome home party you have ever seen. Please keep Scott in your prayers and us as well as we push forward in our efforts to keep his name on the front page.
