Max Cleland,was appointed by President George W. Bush to the board of directors of the Export-Import Bank in 2003.He makes $136,000 a year. Should we send Max back down to Crawford with a letter tothe President towarn him abouthis connection toa major supportor and contributor to the Kerry campaign? Is the President now responsible for the actions of John Kerry and his "band ofbrothers"?Where will this web of connections lead?Is this a vastleft/right wing conspiracy?Or does this mean that the President thinks more of Max Cleland and his service to this country than what has been portrayed in Kerry ads,by the talking heads, themedia,and on this forum. While enjoying his $136,000 annual salaried job as one of five directors of the Export-Import Bank thanks to GWB's appointment, ol' Max spends his time campaigning against his patron. On Aug. 25, Max pulled a vaudevillian campaign stunt for TJ Kerry, traveling to Crawford, Texas, for a photo op, and an attempt to deliver a letter to the President. Ol' Max is rarely seen in the Washington offices of the Ex-Im Bank, for which he allegedly works. He usually participates in the weekly directors' meetings by phone. Ah, yes, a liberal's ingratitude.... take the money and screw the taxpayer.
