We were at Lang Vei, (or just out side Lang vei) We get orders to go to Hue and meet up with some 101 guys on the East side of the New city of Hue. Seems the Marines were haveing a little fricous and needed some help.
I learned 30 something years later (from Col Murph) that just after we left Lang Vei it was over run. I drank many a beer next to the twin 40 MM tank that we were with, We were outside the perimiter defences of Lang Vei and those guys couldn't have had much of a chance when the shit hit the fan. You know, For the life of me I can't remember any of there names, I can see there faces just like they were standing in front of me, all jokeing and shoving at each other but no names, Damm that was depressing when Col Murph said Lang Vei was over run. Reminds me of Splummer saying that during Tet 68 he was stuck in Hue but from what he was hearing he was sure glad he wasn't stuck in "Way "
