Default My son the cub scout

My son recently joined the cub scouts. I am a teeny bit leery since it seems to be full of staunch black and white extreme conservatives (adults) but the boys are having a great time.
Kieran got to present the colors on their Sept. 11th ceremony and was incredibly proud to do it...and watching them all rise when the flag came in at their pack meeting and saying the pledge of allegiance was very touching.
He is already working on a bunch of badges and is doing really well.
Just a proud momma braggin a little. *G*
How do you all feel about the cub scouts/boy scouts in general?

Our Legion post holds the charter for a couple of cub scout and boy scout packs. And, coincidentally, we are going to a meeting tonight to show them how to properly fold the American flag. Tell your little guy to have fun. Do they still do the pinewood derby race cars?

Thumbs up

Still like going into the woods because of the scouts . Was a cub and boy scout - loved winter camping. Still have my " Scout Field Book " printed in 1958. Part five" Helping Others" Part Seven " Our America " , Part Three " Camp Crafts" He'll remember the fun and comaradery (?) for a long time . Educate those parents

Drywall,

I remember (way back) the Legion Post my Dad belonged to used to take out the Boy's to lean how to shoot. My Dad and I didn't do a lot together but I do remember that day.

I've got only gal's and did things with them until they discovered boys - then it wasn't cool to hang with Dad. But meanwhile both my gals can change oil - check the fluids - change tires and my oldest daughter throws a football better than most guys she knows. So I've had some input.

Boats,
There is a gun safety program here too. It's not run by the legion post but they store their weapons in our arms room. I think you have to be 12 years old to take the course. They get a certificate and a patch for their jacket. The certificate is req'd to buy a big game license if your under 18.

Drywall/Boats.

You both have very good points.

The kids should have supervised "target Practice".

Riight now I feel like going next door and killing two dogs that k

kept me awake all night long wqith their barking.

Boats" are them girls old enough???

My girlfriend checks the oil, trans fluid, water, and anti freeze,,,,,,,,,,But who does the work? Yep, REEB.

Drywall, You should be further in the country, ) might hit of the terrorist) of which you would be held responible.

I would give a good character witness for ya if that happens.

Yes I am just balbbering again, and to tell the truth

I DONT CARE ANYMORE.

Yall just a good bunch of good buddies/gals/

Default Cub Scouts is a good start.

for any boy. I had my kid in "Indian Guides" until he was old enough for Cubs then he went on to Boy Scouts. It must have made a pretty good impression on him as he went on to West Point and is now the Chaplain for the 325 PIR (2d Bde of the 82d Airborne).
