Da Dims are in a basic conundrum. Harry Reid has already said he wouldn't allow the US Senate to seat the new appointee, and he has the votes to do just that. Then the MSM will scream and shout that a poor Black man is being discriminated against by them evil Whities, yowsir, jus like dey been whuppin' us po' Black folks fo' years an' years. Lawsee me.
And as corrupt and volatile as Chicago is, don't be surprised if you see rioting in the streets with Blacks burning and looting their way across the city, if Reid pulls his power-play. But people need to thoroughly examine the relationship between the appointee and the appointor. There has been multiple thousands of dollars passing between them via various contracts and other business arrangements. It's just the SOS, different day.

The scaly underbelly of Chicago political corruption has always been a source of amazement but this Ivan poluka Blago sets a new high bar. Open and forcefully demanding his slice of the corruption pie has to be a new record, even for Chicago.
I feel certain he isn’t going to go down alone and there has to be some mighty leaky bladders in the windy city. In terms of alleged “change we need”, Obama would be well served to change his mind about his Chief of Staff selection. He needs that kind of Chicago baggage like he needs a big melanoma at the tip of his nose. Just take a guess at what people are going to look at. Scamp

This will get to the US supreme court and they will decide on the law, and the appointment will go threw. There are a couple points here, 1. The Gov. has to appoint a senator by Illinois state law. 2. The only reason given for congress to not except an appointment is if the person is not qualified, and he is. Now what happens after that will get exciting.

As of the present moment, the governor of Illinois, a Democrat, allegedly more corrupt and venile than the sleazebag former governor, another Democrat, of New Yawk who paid a hooker $$thousands, has not yet been convicted of any crime. He still has the legal authority to appoint Barack Hussein Obama's (the Democrat bastard from Chicago) successor to the US Senate. It is the prerogative of the US Senate leadership, currently under Harry Reid, another Democrat, to determine if the appointee is qualified, before he can be 'certified' to sit as a US senator. I'm not sure how or when the US Supreme Court would get involved, since no law has been broken, and the prospect of them reviewing the case on a writ of certiorie is very remote. This is a Democrat problem, and it will only get worse as the days pass into nights. The squirming and slithering as just begun, and that "scaly underbelly" so richly described by Seascamp, will traverse many more gutters before all's said and done. I for one will enjoy the show.

Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm, escort service. I thought that was a NY Guv thing, but, if someone gets screwed, I guess it nets out the same.
So the Ivan Poluka is going to defy the Senate and the Pres. Elect, eh. Obama said no deal to the Ivan Poluka's appointment. Bring pit bulls, the fight is on. Not even T'd up and we got a dog fight alley brawl already, not a good sign. Yikes, just wait until the designated Secretary of State; Clinton, and the self-appointed Secretary of State; Pelosi, lock horns about who is dog and who is tail and get Obama across the third rail; that's a zap n' sizzle deal. Nasty moves are already happing there and it isn’t going to be pretty, nope. Yo-ho, baton down the hatches, secure missile hazards, we got same big-ass rollers dead ahead n' coming fast. Jeezzz, I thought the typhoon off Midway was really bad. Apparently not as bad as the beltway storms and battles now painting on the radar scope. So much for giving the Obama guy a chance and a bit of supportive fraternal solidarity. Scamp

Chris, I'm not sure it's eastern European. The ending "vich" is Russian meaning "'son of". "vichova" would designate daughter or wife of the son of, etc. And it gets more complicated than that, grief. You maybe right, but certainly looks to be Russian to me. Ivanovich equals the son of John, like Johnson or Williamson. Ivanovichova would be the the daughter or wife of the son of John. Too complicated for me, so just "Ivans" is good enough for me.
