Well now I could remember you a lot more heroically for more money--please send check--but mostly its easy to remember you because you have the same name my son does--thats Dan, not Bersch.
Every word I say here is truth--101st machine gunner was more dangerous than being a lrrp. I mean we had our moments of inspired desperation, no doubt (in my darker moods, it seemd like all the time),but we didn't have to sleep in the mess, usually. And machine guns CAN be so awfully messy. Our dangerous days were no worse than yours: you can only be killed jus SO dead.
Anybody who humped a 60 in the One Oh WOrst got my approval, no error.
Re covering your ass: only when it didn't get in the way of covering my own ass. That gook was just in the wrong place at the wrong time looking the wrong way--my favorite way to take on an enemy, I almost always win that way. I guess that just taught him not to ba a Commie!!
