Let's Talk Turkey
LETS TALK TURKEY!
Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the United States National Bird. He called the turkey A True Native Original. Although domesticated turkeys cannot fly, wild ones can. They prefer to run, but if forced into the air they can briefly reach speeds of 55 miles per hour. The heaviest turkey on record weighed 86 pounds. Fossils show us that turkeys have been living here for approximately 10 million years. Turkeys spend the night in trees. They fly to their roosts at sunset. A wild turkey has excellent daytime vision and hearing. They can reach running speeds of 20 miles per hour when spooked. ------------------------------------------------ November Past 1 - On November 3, 1957, Sputnik 2 launched, carrying what kind of animal into space? 2 On November 10, 1871, journalist Henry Morton Stanley met what man in Africa? 3 - On November 5, 1935, what board game featuring street names from Atlantic City, New Jersey, debuted? 4 On November 18, 1307 what Swiss patriot shot an apple from his sons head? 5 What southern continent was discovered on November 18, 1820? 6 On November 19, 1863 Lincoln gave a speech that he thought the world will make little note nor long remember? ------------------------ A Gettysburg Address B William Tell C Dr. David Livingstone D Monopoly E Dog F Antarctica ------------------------- > > > > > > > > > > > Correct Answers 1 E 2 C 3 D 4 B 5 F 6 - A
