Schultz urges direct contributions to rebuild Vietnam Monument

Residents who want to help replace the Swampscott Veterans Monument,
destroyed Aug. 15 when a car crashed into it without stopping
afterward, should definitely not donate to a telephone solicitor from
the Mass. Vietnam Veterans Association, says Jim Schultz, Swampscott's
veterans service officer.

"There is currently an organization called the Mass Vietnam Veterans
Association using telephone solicitations to allegedly raise funds for
the rebuilding of the Swampscott Vietnam Veterans Honor Roll," Schultz
said.

"Initially it was believed that this organization. was going to help
the town by raising funds that would go strictly towards the
rebuilding of the destroyed monument. This unfortunately turned out to
be untrue.

organization and learned that it is registered with the Massachusetts
Secretary of State and the A...
