This thread is degrading into political and personal attacks. Stay on subject or have thread removed.

Why not accept that progress has been and is being made, be grateful for it, say so to those who helped make that possible (even if our own personal agenda did not work out as we'd hoped), and keep going forward from that point.

Okay?

Could that be a plan that might be better than the existing one?

Trav you can do as you please. But it's obvious as hell where your 'bias' is showing regarding this issue.

If you'll go back and check on post # 8 by Scout is where the 'name-calling' and 'personal attacks' started!

Why didn't YOU say something then?????

I gues it's OK for him ...huh?

But, when the proverbial 'shoe' is on the other foot you want to bring the hammer down, right?

And for my last post ALL I did was 'COPY & PASTE" what he said on another post nearly word for word except inserting certain 'qualifications' as I felt he should be awarded as he was 'awrading ME in his post. The 'PROOF' is below.

And I quote Supers post speaking about ME,"I take it by his silence that my absolutely factual rejoinder may be interpreted as a stopper of his runaway mouth . Do you think he'll apologize for his erroneous ways? Nah, too much of a redneck liberal, eaten up with hatred. "........end quote by Superscout on a previous post!

So, as I said before.............it's OK for Super to say these type things, but not someone with a 'different' view point???

And, it is nearly impossible to remove 'politics' from this subject since the very HISTORY of it has been so affected by it in recent years.

The 'VOTES' in Congress and lack of support from the Whitehouse are in fact WHAT this issue is all about?????

PS............Blue..............NO............it's NOT ENOUGH!

Sorry it is not enough, but it's a start, eh?

Could you just admit that?

First of all, I have reread post #8 about five times and can not find anywhere in the post where you were attacked or called derogatory names.

I did see where he asked you the very simple question "is this what you are whining and complaining about" How is that attacking or degrading you?

It is not ok for you, him or anyone else on this site to attack another member. For clarity I refer you to David's "Do's and Don'ts" for postings and membership to this site.

Secondly, I do admit my own short comings and can say that I had not read this thread. Sorry chalk that one up to me. After having read it today, I posted a message for all to see who have posted on this issue. I did not single anyone out or mention names. If you felt singled out, oh well, sorry, must have been a reason why you felt that way.

There have been a few members who have either emailed or PM'ed me stating they are very sick of all the politics and BS name calling that is currently going on on this site. Some have refused to post or "show their face" on this site until it is back to normal.

There is a Thread for Political Postings and should be used. Believe it or not, some people do not care for politics and are sick of it being plastered on every thread and shoved down their throats. Count me with that crowd. They actual stay away from the political threads for that reason and read other threads hoping to escape the day to day political world that we live in.

Extremist are poison, no matter what side of the coin they are on.

Hope this clarifies my post for you.

I appreciate your timely and obviously well thought out response.

I do however fail to agree that calling someone a 'whiner' and 'complainer' is not a form of 'name calling'. I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder. Sorry you don't see it that way.

The section of the individuals 'quote' I was refering to was on another post over on the political forum. Sorry if I confused you with that.

Be that as it may, this individual has a long history of 'name calling' and character defamation towards just about anyone who may have any opinion that may differ with his own. Be it pollitical, societal, religious, or otherwise as the case may be. I DON'T see much evidence of any action, punitive or otherwise be taken to change that behavior? It is STILL as frequent as it has ever been.

My primary concern for the original post on this forum was (and will continue to be) to INFORM and EDUCATE any and all who take the time to read the information I post to better understand the issues affecting 'Veterans Benefits'......... be it NEGATIVE or POSITIVE.

And if that seems to be a 'slam' at EITHER political party, politician, bureaucratic agency, military entity or organization, public or private institution or any individual who may be 'involved' in preventing or reducing these 'benefits' to ALL eligible military veterans and/or their dependents.........so be it!

To those 'few' members who you say are emailing or PM'ing you stating they are very sick of all the politics and BS name calling, I can only say this.

I will NOT apologize for putting "politics" into the arguement or back away from ANYONE, be it ordinary citizen, politician, political party (republican OR democratic), bureaucratic agency, military institution or branch, private or public official or enterprise if it means ignoring or allowing Veterans and their dependents be treated unfairly or subjected to relinguishing or reducing their EARNED benefits or rights!

As for the 'name calling"........................if you look CLOSELY.......there are SEVERAL individuals around here who are CONSTANTLY using terms like "leftist", "communists", "socialists", "traitors", "Jane Fonda types", etc, etc. on nearly EVERY occasion that someone posts an arguement or opinion that may be different than their own! I don't see those individuals curtailing or stopping THAT behavior.....do YOU???

Yes, I have been guilty of some similar instances in the past, and I am certainly MORE than willing to not participate in this behavior in the future...............but JESUS man................it works BOTH WAYS!

Anyway, thanks again for your timely response
.

First...I will not get into a tit-for-tat discussion with you.

Second...I understand the emotions and flustration you feel about the subject. You tote the banner for Veterans benefits and rights higher than anyone I have ever known. I thank you for that.

Third...I will state again that it is not ok for you, him or any member of this site to call names or degrade another members character.

I can not control what is being posted on all threads. On the threads that I am responsible for I will. Threads that degrade as they have in the past will either be moved to the appropriate thread or deleted if they become to out of had.

Fourth.....If in fact you are simply trying to "inform and educate", maybe you should try to post facts and facts only. There seems to be lots and lots of personal feelings and opinions mixed into your very lengthy posts. Save those for a follow on post or a rebuttal post. Might save everyone heartache.

I do not expect you to apoligize or recant any statements. What I do expect is for you and ALL MEMBERS of this site to treat each and every member of this site with respect and compassion.
