Now I know that many men out there have had more combat experience than my old man, but in my opinion, every man who ever put his backside on the line for “God and Country” must never be forgotten or dismissed! And for any man who had already put in a tour prior to World War II, to re-up and request combat duty, really says a lot about that individual, does it not? Not to mention the fact, that many of my relatives also served in uniform in times of war, and peace alike?

And if I show some understandable pride in “My Now Departed Old Man” for his three beach heads and six battle stars (African & European Theater of Operations) during that war that was supposed to be the last war that “Our Gallant Nation” was ever engaged in, then I would think that this is understandable, as I am sure that many of you too, are as proud of your own relatives who fought to preserve the values and the liberty that we, as a nation of free men and women, all value above all other things!

And for as long as I live, I will continue to give my respect (and to pay my homage) to all of those “Gallant American Men and Women” who served “Our Nation” when it needed them the most!

Well Done – To All of You Who Served Honorably - From 1776 to the Present And Even Into The Future As Well!! “American Heroes – One and All!”

Well said HC - and the many who still step up to battle for America

Unless you come a military family you don't realize the hell they all went
through and the wounded who carry the scar's and difficulties all their
remaining days.
-
I've heard stories from my relatives all my life growing up.
My Brother & I and seven guys from the neighborhood went to
Nam and a few to other hell-holes later on. The are all gone
but one - my pal in Lancaster, PA Jerry Morris - we call each
other every couple months just to hear each other's voice.
-
We also carried the losses of our friends who also never made
it back or were severely wounded - and now have to live with
his or her memories of those hellish days of pure hell on earth.

God Bless all those Americans that served and those that will
serve in the future - of a never end world of wars & combat.

Note: There is no Real Peace On Earth - just look at today!
& all those yesterdays and more yet to come?
