Good man.

I've been wondering how the health of WWII veterans was ... for those who were in war zone. ... ?

Any type 2 diabetes showing up in the family line? any birth defects?

I can place this on my site for you. One of my good buddies (and forum member) has a whole site dedicated to the Italian campaign. Several of the vets that are members may also be able to add some info to it too. My father also fought in Italy.

What unit was he with?

THank you so much for answering my post!

My grandpa was with the 757th Tank Battalion. Latey he is have trouble remembering what and who he was attached to. He was in C company. He said something about the British 8th army that he was attached to often. He isn't 100% sure though. He also mentioned a 5th army. I don't know how or if that would help in finding out more about this place.

Mel,

In 2002 the 757th had a reunion ... I couldn't find anyhting more current but here's the contact info for that reunion

Max Malcom, (316) 775-6588

If Mr. Malcom can be reached, I'm sure he can help you .... good luck

Mel ... I found a contact for the 2nd Armored Division that has a 2006 contact for the 757th in WW II ...... Mr. Warren & Nancy Davis at 1-612-484-8229

Even if it's out of the question for your gramps to attend a reunion, I'm sure they can help you to find out more about the battle and the units campaigns.

I'll keep looking for more stuff for ya

THank you Bill. I have meet everone of the mentioned men. The thing with the way there tank Bn worled as they told me is that a handful of tanks were attached to infantry. I am mainly trying to find out the info about the location. I don't know why but it just sparked my curiousity.

My grandpa turns 86 next month. Most of the guys that were with him are gone or in to poor of health to attend reunions. The last reunion, or what they are saying will be the last is being held this year in Salt Lake City, Utah. My grandpa is unable to attend due to his health. It is a sad thing to see these reunions. Everytime they say goodbye at the end of them its like they are saying goodbye forever. I have been to a few with him, the last one I went to with him was in Montana. Its just sad to see your heros get old I guess. Thank you again Bill for the help, it does mean alot.

That will be EXTREMELY helpful. Have added this info to my forum and of course will pass it along to my friend who's specialty is the Italian Campaign.

Yes the 5th Army would be correct. I also have books on the 5th and may be able to find something myself too.

I will start posting all the info here and add as I go along.

http://www.milhist.net/ordbat/mtounits.html

This shows all the major allied units in the Italian campaign and DOES list the 757th. Yeah!

Here's a contact name. This is for all 757th Co's.

Mr. Warren & Nancy Davis at 1-612-484-8229

To make things easier, I am going to post my forum link regarding the 757th so I don't have to copy things twice.
