How to fund all Vet bennies
The following programs, and their associated one-year costs, canbe eliminated without harming America, and the resultant savings can fund any and all veterans benefits programs. This list is compliments of the Citizens Against Government Waste.
Eliminate money-losing timber sales. $30M " subsidies totheUS steel industry. $500M " subsidies for wild blueberries. $10M " the Minority Business Development Agency. $30M " funding for bilingual and immigant education. $460M " the National Writing Project. $20M " funding for the National & Community Service Act. $135M " the Citizen Corps. $40M " the Americorps Program. $430M Prohibit use of official time by government employees for union activities. $$50M Need more? There are several pages of cuts that should be made.
