Bloody April
April 6th was a Sunday. Joseph Johnston unleashed his fury on the yanks at Pittsburg Landing and thus began the battle of Shiloh. Blossoms rained like snow in the cherry orchard and minie balls buzzed like bees. Two-sometimes three stuck together in mid-flight. The stock pond was red at the end of the day.
Joe Johnston lay dead on the field, but the yanks are all but whipped. The boys are tired. We can finish those yanks tomorrow. Chilidog
