Default A Bit of Nostalgia for the VN Vets!

Do ya'll remember...

...when Tootsie Rolls were a nickel?
They were about 6 inches long and as big around as your thumb.

Tootsie Roll Pops were 2 cents each.
They were TWICE as big as they are now.

And I had forgotten about those little caramel and chocolate squares wrapped in clear paper for 1 cent each.

Man! We didn't know how good we had it!

Rigger,

Not to change the subject to much:

But how about in Nam with ration card "

case of beer $2.40
Bottle of wine $2.00
Caron of smokes $2.00

Yes I remember alot about Tootsie Rolls, ( ,y favorite when I went to the movies)

Now think this over::

What about the kids now 20 or 21 years old: 20 years from now:

What ever happened to the $1.00 candy bar
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""$ 5.00 Hot Dog
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""$ 4.00 beer
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""$1.79 gal of gas

something to think about, huh?

enough............

Cool Candy

Actually, I've always been a Reese's peanut butter cup man. You know, if you buy them on November 1st the price isn't bad. This has been sort of a childhood thread, that's a good thing, but does anyone remember $.99 six packs?

Stay healthy,
Andy

Default Cheap Beer

I remember when you could buy really bad beer for .89 or .99 a six pack. There was Brown Derby and Fisher beer out here in Calif., don't know if they had it anywhere else.

Thumbs up

My Dad worked as a machineist for Ballentine Beer and got a six pack after his shift was over every day. They also sold 6 packs for 99 cents once in awhile

Default Used to

Play pool for 10 cents a game and drink .25 cent drafts. The bartenders would also rack the balls for you after each game when they collected their 10 cents. It was cheap fun for 16-17 year old boys. The Draft beer was "Cool Blue PBR'S". Back then it was a great beer. Don't forget penny candy also. Used to get 2 or 3 for a penny.

Rigger, your real fixated on candy right now.....what's up???

Also, Cigs in a machine, .25....at the drug store..... 15 cents.
