Default Before Ia Drang valley 1965

The 3rd brg 1st cavalry fought against the 32nd, 33rd and 66th reg NVA in the Ia Drang Valley Nov 14-16 1965, This was always considered the first major engagement of the war,
Has anyone ever heard of operation Starlight, Aug 18-21 1965, (3 months before Ia Drang) The Marines had a little fight with the 1st regiment of VC south of Chu Lai , lasted 4 days and 700 known enemy dead.
Remember in the movie, "we were soldiers" when they were in training and the radio operator picked up "skip" from VN (yea right) the people that were in a fire fight were most probibly these Marines.
Just a bit of information for your brain.
