The Air Force has flown more than 600 sorties, including numerous strike missions against al Qaeda and Taliban targets in Afghanistan. U.S. Navy SEALs (Sea, Air
U.S. Navy SEALs (Sea, Air, Land) explored 70 caves in the Zawar Kili area of eastern Afghanistan. Construction of the caves varied widely and included brick (as seen here), earth, concrete, steel and various combinations. Used by Al Qaeda and Taliban forces, the caves and other above-ground complexes were subsequently destroyed either by Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel or through air strikes called in by the SEALs.
