The allies dropped large
The allies dropped large amounts of forged rationing cards over Germany These ranged from forged clothing ration books to many types of food rationing cards. The aim of these documents was to disrupt the internal distribution (economic sabotage) by dropping large amounts of them over German civilians. But in at least one German report, there is a mentioning of forged clothing ration books found in crashed aircraft. It was supposed by the Germans that these documents were to help British aircrew in getting access to civilian clothing.

The flight deck crew practices rigging an aircraft barricade aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). Two hydraulically-operated stanchions support nylon straps and form a net across the deck to stop aircraft making an emergency landing. Such emergencies include when landing gear has failed or the aircraft has sustained such damage to prevent a routine trap. Kitty Hawk and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5) are currently underway providing a forward presence in the Asian Pacific area of operation and conducting scheduled training exercises with regional allies. Kitty Hawk is the Navy?s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, based in Yokosuka, Japan.
