Chesty XI, an English bulldog and the official mascot of Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C., was meritoriously promoted to the rank of corporal on Aug. 18, 2000. Affectionately known as "Molly," her nearly flawless 2000 parade season was attributed, in part, to her handler, Cpl Jessica M. Vazquez, who worked much of the year to perfect Molly's parade performance.
