USS Arthur W. Radford is underway in the Mediterranean Sea as the Spruance-class destroyer nears the end of a regularly scheduled deployment. Today's modern Navy destroyers provide multi-mission offensive and defensive capabilities, and can operate independently or as part of carrier battle groups, surface action groups, amphibious ready groups, and underway replenishment groups.
