An SH-60H Sea Hawk from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Four (HS-4) lifts off from the ship?s flight deck as an F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the ?Fist of the Fleet? Strike Fighter Squadron Two Five (VFA-25) is ready for launch on the number four catapult. This particular Hornet is outfitted with a number of strike weapons including the Standoff Land Attack Missile - Expanded Response (SLAM-ER), an evolutionary upgrade to the combat-proven SLAM day/night, adverse weather over-the-horizon, precision strike missile, located on the aircraft?s starboard center pylon. HS-4 provides plane guard and conducts combat search and rescue support. Abraham Lincoln and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are conducting combat missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch.
