Sailors man the rails of the newly commissioned destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) as the guided missile destroyer is ?brought to life? and into naval service. The ship and her crew will undergo a year of sea trials before making an initial deployment. Named for the Revolutionary War hero Commodore Edward Preble, the Navy's 64th Aegis-class destroyer was commissioned during a traditional Navy ceremony in South Boston's Commonwealth Pier.
