Some things haven't changed. The Honda 50 moped was the national mode of transportation. It gets 150 miles to the gallon. We used to get in traffic accidents from these. It was not unusual to get five people in a single moped wreck. We got a lot more of those than civilian casualties.

Thats who mostly uses them but they'll sell to anyone. The government controls all gas sales although there are big major brand gas stations also--these are Joint Ventures. These little guys just are the convenience mart of gas stations. They sometimes dilute the gas though

1 liter is about 40 cts worth of dong--this is some bucks to Vietnamese, who earn about $5 day average
