Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 61st Medical Battalion
(Companies A, B, and C, and the Clearing Company, as the 391st, 392d, and 393d Medical Collecting Companies, and the 643d Clearing Company, respectively - hereafter separate lineages)
Inactivated 12 November 1945 in France
Allotted 1 March 1963 to the Regular Army
Activated 26 March 1963 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Inactivated 18 February 1972 at Fort Lewis, Washington
Activated 15 January 1993 at Fort Hood, Texas (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
