Trained in A-37 and A-10 offensive and defensive capabilities, including close air support, 1978-1992. Deployed with A-10s to Saudi Arabia, 1 Jan-17 May 1991. Executed battlefield interdiction and close air support during the Southwest Asia War, Jan-Feb 1991; group pilot credited with the first A-10 air-to-air kill on 6 Feb 1991. Transitioned to F-16 fighters in 1992. Deployed to Italy and participated in UN operations to enforce the no-fly zone over Bosnia, Mar-Apr 1995.
