Overview: This place, held by about 110 French troops, under Noyan, was captured by Colonel Bradstreet with about 3,000 Colonials, August 27, 1758. The capture was of extreme importance, as it robbed the French of the control of Lake Ontario, and severed communications with their posts on the Ohio.
