USS Ameera, a 71?-foot scout patrol boat, was built in 1917 at Camden, New Jersey, as a pleasure craft. She was purchased by the Navy in July 1917 and placed in commission the next month. For the rest of World War I, and well into 1919, Ameera performed patrol and dispatch service in the vicinity of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was decommissioned in September 1919 and sold in April 1920.
