Frances II (Motor Boat, 1915)

Frances II, a 32-ton motor boat built in 1915 at New York City, later was renamed Jimetta. She was taken over by the Navy for World War I service in July 1917 and commissioned in September as USS Jimetta (SP-878). During 1917-18, she operated as a patrol and dispatch boat in the Long Island Sound area. Jimetta was decommissioned and returned to her owner in December 1918.
