Chiri San, a 173-foot submarine chaser originally completed in 1945 as the USS PC-810, was transferred by the United States to the Republic of Korea in 1950. En route to South Korea when the Korean War began in late June 1950, she was soon engaged in combat operations along the embattled nation's coast. On 26 December 1951, Chiri San was sunk by a mine off Wonsan, North Korea.
