USS Ozark (1864-1865)

USS Ozark, a 578-ton single-turret ironclad river monitor, was built at Peoria, Illinois. Commissioned in February 1864, she spent her entire Navy career serving in the Mississippi Squadron. Ozark's only major operation was the Red River expedition in March-May 1864. Following the end of the Civil War, she was decommissioned in July 1865 and sold the following November.
