USS Patrol # 10, a 60-foot motor patrol boat, was built in 1917 at Greenport, Long Island, New York, for a civilian owner, probably in connection with the "Preparedness" program that preceded U.S. entry into World War I. The Navy acquired her in May 1917, placed her in commission in September of that year, and employed her in the New York City area for the rest of World War I. Decommissioned after the end of the conflict, Patrol # 10 was first advertised for sale in February 1920 and finally sold in August 1921.
