USS Pattina, a 60-foot motor patrol boat, was built in 1916 at Stamford, Connecticut, as a civilian pleasure craft. The Navy leased her in September 1917 and placed her in service a month later. Pattina served along the Atlantic Coast until after the end of the First World War fighting. She was returned to her owner in February 1919.
