USS Remlik was a 432 gross ton patrol vessel. Originally built at Hull, England, in 1903 as the steam yacht Candace, she was later renamed Remlik while still under civilian ownership. She was purchased by the Navy in June 1917 and placed in commission the following month. Assigned to anti-submarine patrol and escort service in the Bay of Biscay, she began operations in that area in the late summer. Remlik reportedly encountered an enemy submarine during a storm at sea on 17 December 1917, but the weather prevented an engagement. While she was fighting the heavy seas that day, a depth charge broke loose on her after deck and was secured by Chief Boatswain's Mate John MacKenzie, who received the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions.

Remlik remained in French waters until after the end of World War I, then returned to the United States. She was decommissioned at Norfolk, Virginia, in November 1919 and sold in June of the following year.
