USS Sturdy (SP-82), 1917-1920

USS Sturdy, a 75-foot motor boat, was built in 1905 at Morris Heights, New York, as a civilian pleasure craft. She was acquired by the Navy in May 1917, placed in commission a month later, and served as a net tender in the Third Naval District (New York area) during and after the First World War. Sturdy was sold in March 1920.
