Activated 7 December 1962 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina

Reorganized and redesignated 15 January 1987 as Company B, 82d Aviation, an element of the 82d Airborne Division

Reorganized and redesignated 16 October 1989 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 82d Aviation, and remained assigned to the 82d Airborne Division (organic elements concurrently constituted and activated)
